Lincoln Way Central students are partnering with our Clarendale of Mokena Memory Care residents to work on a program called “Alive Inside.” Alive Inside was a documentary featured at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival showing the importance and impact that music has on someone with dementia.
The students from the Lincoln Way music department have spent time interviewing a select group of residents, spending time getting to know them and learning about their lives. The students have been fundraising in order to purchase individual IPOD’s for these residents which they will fill with the residents’ favorite music. This music will help bring joy to our resident’s day in such a powerful way. Thank you to the students and teachers at Lincoln Way Central for taking the time to invest in our residents and letting us be a part of such a wonderful program!
