Who knew a Clarendale of Mokena Car Show would be key to raising more than $5,000 for the Alzheimer’s Association? Our Clarendale sales and marketing team and life enrichment staff had high hopes the on-site outdoor fundraiser last fall would be popular, but the inaugural event drove so much excitement, participation and monetary contributions, it will now become an annual event!

“The Car Show was just so much fun for seniors and their families,” says Tricia Stoudt, Executive Director. “I’m so proud of Bridget, Kathryn and everyone in our life enrichment group. On one Saturday in September, they made Clarendale of Mokena the destination for an old-fashioned good time for a great cause.”

According to Bridget Fogarty, Director of Sales and Marketing, “The event was popular with our residents, too. Seniors had the chance to reminisce and remember iconic model cars dating back to the 40s. We added in food, music, trophies and raffles, and the three-hour, midday Car Show became a must-attend event for so many auto aficionados.”

“Dozens of car owners paid the $20 registration fee to show their cars, and attendees pitched in to help us easily reach the $5,000 goal—with all proceeds going to the Alzheimer’s Association,” adds Kathryn Dietrich, Director of Community Relations.

If you missed the 2021 Car Show at Clarendale of Mokena, make yourself a note to watch for our second annual event this September.

“The Alzheimer’s Association is a worthy charity close to the hearts of our employees, residents and families alike,” Stoudt says. “So naturally we’re setting a goal to top our fundraising results with an even bigger and better event in 2022. We hope you’ll plan to join us!”
